Believe it or not our local trails got about 6" of Snow last month. As close as 5 miles away we could haul out the studded tires and arm warmers for a snowy ride in 60 degree (day time) temps.
I don't think Serfas will be making studded tires any time soon though...

This is Saddleback mountain I think it's peak is around 5000 feet and the snow level came down to about 2000 feet.
Amazing if you think about it... I can ride my road/cross bike up to this snow level and then be at the beach with in 30 minutes of that.
